World Class Seminar Huge Success
Grandmaster Ron Van Browning Sun Prairie, WI
– Saturday, November 22, 2008 world renowned Grandmaster Ron Van
Browning presented two seminars. The event was hosted Master Bill
Koster of Karate America located at 942 W. Main Street in Sun Prairie.
Approximately 15
youth and 25 teens/adults from the Sun Prairie area attended the
sessions on Saturday to learn the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu. They
learned how effective these self-defense methods are from one of the
best trainers in the world. When properly trained, a smaller/weaker
person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend
against a bigger/stronger attacker. |

Attendees learned some about joint-locks. Isolating an
attackers arm or leg; then creating a lever using body position will
force the joint to move past its normal range of motion to what is
referred to as hyperextension. This procedure would allow a victim
valuable “seconds” to escape. More advanced techniques that are learned
during professional training are choke-holds. When properly
administered this technique will disrupt the blood supply to the brain
and put the attacker into an unconscious state, again, giving the
victim time to escape. |

Grandmaster Van Browning has trained with national acclaimed sources of Jiu-Jitsu professionals and he travels around the world to pass along his knowledge of the arts. He has trained FBI and law enforcement personnel all over the United States, as well as private security personnel. In the entertainment industry he has created fight scenes, trained actors and stuntmen for movies and television. Grandmaster Browning also trains amateur and professional boxers, kickboxers, and submission fighters. He has been sought out to teach assault and rape prevention to employees of major corporations. Master Koster received his 6th degree black belt from Grandmaster Van Browning in May 2008 and continues his ongoing mixed martial arts training from Grandmaster.
