Abby is 10 years old and a 2nd stripe blue belt. She is in 5th grade at Poynette Elementary School and her favorite subject is reading. Her hobbies and interests outside of the Martial Arts include soccer, basketball, and softball.
She likes taking classes at Karate America in Poynette she said that the classes are fun and have taught her to do kicks and punches; and she likes learning to defend herself. Mom (a black belt with Karate America Poynette) says classes have helped Abby learn to focus, learn self-defense, and have fun while learning. |

Aiden started with Karate America in August 2007. He is in 1st grade at Royal Oaks Elementary School in Sun Prairie. His favorite subject is reading and outside of his martial arts he enjoys soccer and hockey. Aiden likes taking classes at Karate America because he likes to learn "new stuff". His classes have taught him how to defend himself and to only talk when it is important. (This is self-discipline during training classes)
Barry, Aiden's dad, enjoys watching him work and learn new things. His mom, Lori notes that Aiden does really well when he concentrates in class. Aiden really likes it when his sister and brother come to watch him train. |

Andrea & Jackson started training in the martial arts in the summer of 2009 when Jackson was 5 years old. He enjoys most sports and his favorite classes at school are gym, math, and sciences. He like taking classes at Karate America to learn to defend himself and be smart, His mom is thrilled he has the opportunity to obtain the knowledge and power to defend himself. He learns when it is appropriate and when it is not appropriate to use those skills.
Andrea started taking martial arts classes at the age of 35 and is employed by the Sun Prairie Area School District where she works as secretary to the principal of the high school. When not at work or training in martial arts, Andrea enjoys reading and watching movies. She likes taking classes because of the exercise component and the confidence she has gained in her physical abilities that she gets from taking classes.
Both Andrea & Jackson like the fact that they are able to take some of the classes together and that they can share such a wonderful and healthy activity together.

Andrew started with Karate America in 2002 when he was six years old. Outside of Martial Arts he enjoys skateboarding, football, and fishing. His favorite classes are boxing and accelerated fitness.
Andrew likes taking classes at Karate America because, "It has taught me to be a leader and how to be confident and maintain control of situations." His mother noted how Andrew has grown in both fitness and emotional strength. His father is amazed at how high he kicks and how focused he has become.

Brennan is 6 years old and is in kindergarten at Sacred Heart Elementary School. His favorite subjects are math and science. He likes taking classes at Karate America because he likes new challenges and every class is different and he always learns something new. Classes have taught him to be a better listener, focuses more, and has more confidence. Outside of the martial arts Brennan liked swimming, baseball, skate boarding, bike riding, and fishing.
Mom says "I am very pleased Brennan always tries his best no matter what he does. Martial Arts has taught him that even if he is afraid of something, he should face that fear and just give it a try. He practices what he learns in Martial Arts classes at home and school by being a good student, kind to his family, friends, and by helping others. He is a great listener and I am so proud of him." Dad says, "I always tell him, you did a good job and are the best listener. I am always proud of Brennan's talents and abilities and kindness towards others. He is a true leader. He has a great sense of self-discipline and really strives on doing his best no matter what he is doing. |

Caine started with Karate America in February 2008 when he was 3 years old. His favorite part of preschool is playing the "block area". Caine likes taking classes at Karate America because someday he wants to be a "ninja". He likes the drills we do with the big green ball because they are really fun. He said the martial arts have taught him balance, focus, and respect. Outside of the martial arts Caine likes swimming and playing with toys.
Angella, Caine's mom, says, "I am very proud of Caine and what he is accomplishing at Karate America. He has learned so much in a short time and it really shows on and off the mat." Caine's dad, Joe says "I like to see that Caine is learning and having fun at the same time." |

Caleb will be 5 years old this month and is an orange belt with 1 stripe! He is in Pre-K at Peace Lutheran Church. Caleb likes taking classes at Karate America because he loves learning new skills! He has learned that he needs to work hard for things and he has learned to be more focused. Outside the martial arts he enjoys being outdoors playing at the park, riding his bike, playing with GI-Joes and building things with Legos.
Caleb's mom says "I think that Karate has been a great activity for Caleb to be involved in. It has helped to better instill respect, discipline, and confidence in himself. I hope to see him continue to strive and enjoy it as much as he does now. He really enjoys all his instructors and helpers and has made some great friends." Calebs extended family (aunt, uncle, Grandma and Gramdpa) is very supportive of him and can be found sitting on the benches anytime he is training. |

Elisa started with Karate America in July 2005 when she was eight years old. Outside of martial arts, Elisa enjoys reading, piano, and clarinet.
When Elisa was asked why she likes taking classes at Karate America she said, "It keeps me physically fit and I learn new things." Elisa's mother, Pam is a fulltime mom. She thinks that Elisa's involvement in the martial arts has helped her develop inner strength and self-confidence. Her father, Don is an attorney for Reinhart, Boerner, VanDuren. Don said the martial arts has helped channel Elisa's energy in a positive way.

Erik started with Karate America on 01/08/05 at the age of four. He is currently a 2nd degree brown belt and is in the process of testing for his black belt. Erik is in 3rd grade at Marshall Elementary School and his favorite subjects are reading and math. Outside of Martial Arts Erik enjoys baseball, football, reading, and playing Wii.
When Erik was asked why he liked taking classes at Karate America he said, "It makes me more powerful and it is fun. Classes have taught me to be confident in myself."
Felicia, Erik's mother, says, "I am very proud of the little man Erik is becoming. When we first started I thought Erik was never going to stop bouncing around and having to go to floor one. But eventually it all worked out and I am very proud to say that my son is going to be a blackbelt!" Richard, Erik's dad says, "Erik has become more focused, more in control, and he is more responsible. He has been helping me all winter. I'm very proud of Erik." |

Justin is 7 years old and is a 3rd stripe green belt. He attends Sacred Hearts School in Sun Prairie and is in 1st grade. His favorite subjects are phy-ed, art, and "recess". Outside of the Martial Arts include playing with friends, playing card/board games, reading & learning about dinosaurs.
When Justin was asked why he likes taking classes at Karate America he said that the classes are fun when they jog, do jumping jacks and kick the pads. Justin's mother, Eileen (also a student with Karate America), said classes have helped Justin to be more outgoing (was very shy), learn patience, gain self-esteem, learn self-discipline, and he has met more new friends. Justin has a big sister Katie who is a Sophmore in College. |

Kendra started taking martial arts lessons in 2007 at the age of 7 and is currently a blue belt at the age of 10. This fall she will be in the 5th grade at Royal Oaks Elementary School. Her favorite subjects have been math, reading, and writing and outside of the martial arts she enjoys dance. Her younger brother Eric is the one that got her involved in martial arts. Kendra said what she likes best about training here is she has learned to be focused and to listen at all times. She has learned to watch and listen carefully because "even the smallest of details can go a long, long way.
Eric started taking classes at Karate America in 2006 at the age of 4 and now at the age of 7 he is a 1st degree blue belt. This fall he will be in 2nd grade at Royal Oaks and looks forward to math and gym classes. Outside of martial arts he enjoys playing with legos. Kendra is his favorite sparring partner at class and at home. Eric likes taking classes at Karate America for the exercise.
Eric & Kendra's mom, Barb, works in marketing for John Deere Credit. Barb said that she enjoys seeing how much Kendra likes going to classes and watching her self-confidence and leadership develop. She likes how classes have helped Eric learn focus and develop self-discipline and this is not an easy thing to do when you are 7 years old. Eric has learned alot about the value of respecting not only his teachers, but his classmates. Their dad, Chuck is a Hydrologist for ATC Associates, Inc. Chuck likes how classes teach Eric to keep fit and strong and how it teaches self-confidence and respect. Chuck notes how you can have any degree belt and a wide range of belts on the floor at the same time, and everone provies the same respect to each other. He enjoys watching Kendra grow as a person and martial artist as a result of her training. He liked the physical fitness aspect and consisent training classes provide.

Laura started with Karate America in the Summer of 2005 when she was ten years old. Outside of martial arts, Laura enjoys reading anything from Newsweek to science fiction, and running. Laura said classes have taught her leadership skills, discipline, respect for self and others, self-control both physically and mentally, importance of focus and helped me to grow to enjoy exercise.
Laura's mother owns/operates Remember Me Portrait Studio and says she continues to be impressed by how much Laura has learned and how passionate she is about her sport. Her father is a software engineer for SolidWorks Corp and says that he'd of never guessed four years ago that Laura would start karate and become a black belt. He is pleased with the positive experience that Laura has had at Karate America.

Matt started with Karate America in June 2006. He is in 4th grade class at Eastside Elementary School. His favorite subjects are math and reading and hobbies/interests outside of the Martial Arts include soccer, baseball, piano, and bowling.
Matt likes taking classes at Karate America because it helps him with defensive and offensive moves and control. He really enjoys participating in the acclerated classes and said that his classes not only taught him moves and self-control, but also respect for others.
Matt's mother, Sue, believes the Martial Arts has given Matt more confidence in himself and his ability to handle situations. |

Scott started with Karate America in June 2004 when he was eight years old. He is currently 13 and is in 9th grade. He is home-schooled and his favorite subject is math. Outside of martial arts, Scott enjoys reading, playing percussion with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras (WYSO) and playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer.
When Scott was asked why he likes taking classes at Karate America he said, "No matter what your age is, you can still be a leader, and be treated with respect." "Classes have taught me that you have to work to get to your goal. It has also taught me self discipline . . .doing what has to be done without being asked . . . which I'm still working on!"
Scott's mother, Morelia is a stay at home mom and his teacher. Morelia says that karate has been a great experience for Scott Jr. Helps him to stay focused and stay fit. His father, Scott Sr. is the plant manager for Anchor Danly. He says, "I think karate has helped Scott Jr to gain confidence in areas outside the martial arts. While specific self-defense techniques are skills valuable to him, I feel that the emphasis on leadership, self-discipline, and preparation for success are equally important." |

Trevor started with Karate America in September 2006 when he was 3 years old. He is now five years old and in kindergarten at Northside Elementary School. His favorite class is math. He is a Karate Kub with an orange belt and taking alpha classes. He is working towards his gold belt. Trevor likes taking classes at Karate America because it is fun and he likes his instructors. The classes have taught him to become more focused and he works hard. Outside of the martial arts Caine likes swimming, drawing, stories, chess, and checkers.
Kimberly, Trevor's mom, is an Attorney with Eustice, Laffey, Sebranek, & Auby, S.C. Trevor said, "Mom says I can do anything if I try my best." Trevor's dad, Alan is the Executive Vice President of the Bank of Sun Prairie. Trevor said, "Dad reminds me to focus." |
